Rachel

Rachel has been trained in an array of diverse counseling modalities and techniques, creating the foundation for the playful, nurturing, collaborative, and integrated treatment approach she cultivates for her clients and their families. In addition to graduate-level clinical coursework and obtaining independent licensure to practice professional counseling through the State of TN, Rachel has pursued more than 175 hours of specialized play therapy training in pursuit of Registered Play Therapist™ credentials through the Association for Play Therapy, the professional organization responsible for promoting the evidence-based and ethical practice of play therapy.

Prior to founding Rachel Gladys Therapeutic Services, Rachel served as the Clinical Therapist at Davis House Child Advocacy Center in Franklin, TN, where she was honored to provide counseling services to children and adolescents who experienced sexual abuse and their families. Rachel is grateful to her fearless former clients and their families, whom she credits with teaching her the skills to sit with clients during their darkest days and cultivate hope for a brighter future.

Rachel completed her graduate school clinical internships at Lipscomb University's Counseling Center, where she provided counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students, and Davis House Child Advocacy Center.

Before experiencing several pivotal "aha moments," personally and professionally,
leading to her decision to pursue a career in counseling, Rachel worked in
various legal settings as a paralegal and planned to attend law school.

When Rachel isn't at the office seeing clients and playing in the playroom,
she enjoys playing with her goldendoodle, Charlotte & snuggling with
her sheepadoodle, Nola, watching Bravo, and listening to
podcasts & audiobooks.
